Luminary Escapes was born from
frustration — and a refusal to accept good enough.

Throughout her career — planning large-scale events, traveling the world, and watching how the travel industry handles the moments that matter most — Tina Kuga Garrell kept seeing the same problem:

"Lack of follow-up. Poor communication. And worst of all — no real support when something goes wrong while you're actually on the trip."

For honeymooners and destination wedding groups, that's not just inconvenient. It's unacceptable. These are once-in-a-lifetime moments.

After planning her own wedding and helping others with theirs, Tina saw firsthand how often couples were left managing guest travel, chasing down agents, and fixing booking issues — when they should have been fully present and celebrating.

So she did what she's always done: she stepped in and fixed it.

What started as helping friends and family quickly became something larger — because people realized how different it felt to have someone who was proactively managing every detail, actually answering the phone, and staying involved from booking all the way to the return flight home.

As Conference Director for the HR Florida State Council — Florida's SHRM affiliate — Tina planned and executed one of the largest professional conferences in the Southeast. Thousands of attendees, nationally recognized keynote speakers, hundreds of vendors, multi-day logistics. This is where her obsession with flawless execution was forged.

Universal Orlando & Central Florida roots
Tina began her career at Universal Orlando, working across Human Resources in Employee Relations, Benefits, and Training & Development. A Central Florida native her entire life, she knows Orlando's theme parks, beaches, and cruise ports — particularly Port Canaveral — in the kind of depth that only comes from growing up here and building a career here.
